FAQs

Q: How reliable are the new engine parts installed in rebuilt engines?
A: Very reliable. In the majority of cases, these parts are designed and manufactured by the same companies that make engine parts for the engines of the world's major car companies.

Q: Is a salvaged engine an option?
A:

Salvaged engines, more commonly known as "junk-yard" engines, are used engines and generally come from vehicles that end up in salvage yards because of collisions or just worn out junks that are sold for scrap. A salvaged engine is risky, at best.

First of all, you can't be sure of the true mileage of a salvaged engine. And there's no way of telling how the engine was maintained or whether it has suffered abusive treatment and/or neglect. Salvaged engine warranties are very rare and exist for a very limited time period. If a salvaged engine fails you're often faced with its cost, plus the cost of the labor to remove the it and install another engine.

Q: How long does it take to get my engine remanufactured or rebuilt?
A: The project generally takes between one & two weeks. (Depending on Application)

Q: What is the cost of having an engine put in my vehicle?
A: This depends on the make, model, year and engine in the vehicle. Contact us and we will be happy to give you a quote.

Q: Do you offer engine compartment painting and detailing?
A: Yes, many classic and collector cars have never had the engine compartment detailed. While the engine is in our shop, this is the perfect opportunity for the engine compartment to be cleaned, painted and detailed. We are happy to offer this service to our customers! Our process takes approximately 10 hours to complete (with the engine removed from the vehicle).

Q: What is the Engine Repower Council?
A: The ERC is a division of AAIA (Automotive Aftermarket Industry Associates) a not-for-profit corporation comprised of companies and individuals dedicated to informing the public about the economic and environmental benefits associated with rebuilt engines.
